A trip to the vet – dog cancer?

posted in: Cancer 0

The dog is a bit anaemic but has no other symptoms. The vet doesn’t want us to worry… but is clearly concerned that the dog may possibly have a blood cancer. We reassure the vet that we understand the rudiments of blood test results… and won’t jump to conclusions until we have more results. I really couldn’t make it up…

Our lovely cuddly dog, who has accompanied us through splenectomy and cancer, may himself have cancer… He’s such a happy character and loves his life. Fortunately he has no idea about what might be happening.

We know that we mustn’t think too much about it yet because nothing has been confirmed. But we may soon face horrible decisions about what is in his best interests. Apparently dogs tolerate chemo well. Oh good grief. Husband is more concerned for the dog than he is for himself.
